How to Fully Un-Install and Clear vPoint HD from a Computer
|
| |
| VCON Product: |
vPoint 6.0/HD |
| Non-VCON Product: |
|
|
| |
Problem Description:
If something causes the VCON vPoint HD application to get corrupted and the un-install operation doesn't appear to fully clean the PC of various vPoint HD specific files, what can be done to fully clear vPoint HD from the computer? |

|
Resolution:
The following instructions are written for vPoint HD 6.0 on Windows XP.
-
Uninstall your previous version of vPoint HD including restarting your computer when prompted.
-
Look in the registry for the following registry keys using the Start->Run->regedit.exe command. If you'll find one of the specified keys, delete it. In case the key is not deleted because of permissions problems, right click on the registry key, choose permission, and check the Full Control permission. Then delete the key (in Windows 2000, one should use the Regedt32 application to change the permission).
The keys are:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SDVC
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SDVC
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VCON
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RADVision\H323 Configuration\vcon
-
Remove the vPoint HD installation directory. By default it is under Program Files of your System Disk and it is called: "vPoint".
- When you are finished, reboot your computer and install the newest vPoint HD version.
Note that the above steps will not allow the 30-day evaluation version of vPoint HD to be installed over and over again. It only assists with cleaning a vPoint installation for re-installation of an "authenticated" license. |
