Definition of a "call" for licensing on the ALG Proxy Server

VCON Product: SecureConnect
Non-VCON Product:

Problem Description:
The ALG Proxy Server is licensed based on the number of concurrent calls that traverse it. How are these calls actually counted?

Resolution:
First, a "call" is only counted for licensing purposes if the media streams flow through the ALG Proxy. Therefore, if two remote video endpoints make a gatekeeper-routed call to each other, the call setup messages may flow through an ALG Proxy in order to get to the gatekeeper, but the media streams will not. This will not count as a "call".

Additionally, the licensing mechanism is based on video calls, which involve the handling of two simultaneous media streams through the ALG Proxy (audio + video). The ALG Proxy's licensing mechanism actually counts the media streams. Therefore, if 5 calls are licensed, the ALG Proxy would allow 5 video calls, 10 voice calls or a combination of voice and video calls such that the total number of media streams does not exceed 10 (for example: 3 video calls + 4 voice calls).
