Major British Financial Institution Selects Emblaze-VCON's MXM as
Global Videoconferencing Management System

BACKGROUND

A major global financial services provider, engaged in retail and commercial banking, credit cards, investment banking, wealth management and investment management services, required a system that could manage their globally deployed videoconferencing installations. With an extensive international presence in Europe, the USA, Africa and Asia and over 130,000 employees in over 50 countries, this leading financial institution operates globally, moving, lending and investing money for over 30 million customers and clients worldwide.

CHALLENGE

The financial institution was seeking a videoconferencing management system that would provide added value for both its users and its IT administrators worldwide. IT administrators had to be able to handle and supervise initial deployment, policies and restrictions, and provide ongoing support for the financial institution's rich media conferencing network while users wanted to enjoy advanced yet simple conferencing with added-value features like video telephony and ad-hoc point-to-point and multipoint conferencing.

SOLUTION

Emblaze-VCON's award-winning management system for videoconferencing, Media eXchange Manager ® (MXM), was selected by the financial institution to serve as the heart of its integrated global videoconferencing and collaboration network. A flexible and versatile management platform, the MXM supports H.323 and SIP conferencing clients and provides gateway functionality for both legacy ISDN and advanced technologies.  From a single console, it provides the ability to configure, monitor, manage, upgrade and enforce company conferencing policies on any videoconferencing client in an organization.

MXM beat its competitors hands down. The deciding factors for the bank were some of the MXM's unique features such as:

  • high availability options
  • automated configuration
  • automated bandwidth groups that automatically place endpoints in the correct bandwidth for their location
  • MXM running on a VCB chassis using the Emblaze-VCON cluster module which provides a resilient hardware solution so that in the event that the master system is unavailable, a slave will take over.

Decision-makers were also impressed by MXM's full suite of tools for centrally managing and administering user groups and bandwidth requirements, as well as its QoS prioritization, full built-in billing engine and easy reporting capabilities.

SOPHISTICATED BUT FRIENDLY

Although it is a highly sophisticated system, the MXM is extremely user-friendly. No other management platform provides all the features and functionality included in the MXM and no other system is as simple and easy to configure, install and utilize.    Deployment of the MXMs has led to increased user satisfaction within the financial institution, which in turn has led to increased productivity worldwide. Being highly scalable from as few as ten users to thousands of users worldwide, MXM is the perfect fit for such a large, global business.
