Emblaze-VCON Conference Moderator

The Emblaze-VCON Conference Moderator combines web-based scheduling, multipoint session moderation and web data conferencing into one easy-to-use package. The Emblaze-VCON Conference Moderator enhances the quality of the rich media user experience by allowing users to schedule point-to-point or multipoint videoconferences, and to easily manage those conferences in real-time. Additionally, during a videoconference, users can share data with the remote sites through Emblaze-VCON’s WebShare application or through WebEx®’s hosted data conferencing solution. For administrators, the Emblaze-VCON Conference Moderator reduces the complexity of deploying and managing a videoconferencing network and allows them to have visibility into the conferences taking place on the network.

Scheduling and conference moderation

While many videoconferences are ad-hoc, they can be further enhanced by scheduling them in advance. This is especially true when the administrator is asked to remotely initiate a point-to-point or multipoint videoconference. The Emblaze-VCON Conference Moderator puts scheduling in the hands of the user community, similar to the way other conferences and meeting rooms are scheduled. Additionally, the Emblaze-VCON Conference Moderator enables the conference host to easily monitor and manage a multipoint conference session. The host can see a list of participants who have joined the conference and can add or remove participants during a conference. When used in conjunction with the Emblaze-VCON VCB 2500, all key aspects of a multipoint conference can be configured, including turning streaming on/off during a conference.

Web data conferencing

Through the Emblaze-VCON Conference Moderator’s web-based interface, users can share data with others in the conference in two ways. First, Emblaze-VCON has an integrated WebShare feature that allows users to easily share data from their PC with anyone else sitting in front of their web browser. A user simply selects what they want to share and with the click of a button, all other conference attendees have the option of viewing the shared information. Additionally, for users who prefer the hosted WebEx® data conferencing solution, they can launch their WebEx® service directly from the Emblaze-VCON Conference Moderator console and begin sharing data.
