VCON and TECHONTAP Partner to Expand Distribution of Videoconferencing Product Line in Australia

VCON master distributor, TECHONTAP to offer managed networked videoconferencing services designed around VCON's entire portfolio

Sept. 6, 2004 (Herzliya, Israel) – VCON (Euronext- Nouveau Marché -ISIN CODE: IL 00 108 30540), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, today announces a partnership agreement with TECHONTAP INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, Australia’s leading, high-security 100% Internet protocol and voice communications network provider. Techontap will act as Australia’s master distributor for the full range of VCON’s conferencing products in addition to implementing VCON videoconferencing solutions on their own managed IP network.

TECHONTAP’s dedicated IP network makes video and audio conferencing available to businesses throughout Australia. The company also hosts and markets IPBX and VOIP services, unified communications, mobility management and instant messaging solutions.

“We are excited to be represented in Australia by a leading service provider” said Jonathan Rose, VCON sales manager. He added, “This agreement provides an unprecedented opportunity for expansion throughout Australia since Techontap will not only market our products, but will also support and train end-users as well as providing the intelligent IP network that harnesses the sophistication of VCON’s technologies.

Under the terms of the agreement, TECHONTAP will lease, sell and distribute VCON’s entire line of rich media conferencing solutions as well as host a complete VCON network solution for TECHONTAP ’s direct customers. TECHONTAP will also wholesale their own white label network services to other service providers and carriers. Customers can lease or purchase VCON’s High-Definition family of rich media solutions, use the VCON VCB 2000 to conduct multipoint conferencing, streaming and scheduling, and benefit from a centralized management and applications server for videoconferencing networks via VCON’s Media Xchange Manager TM (MXM), the company’s management and administration solution. VCON also offers IPNexus, a web conferencing and instant messaging application.

“VCON has the “third generation” product portfolio we have been searching for” said Graeme Boorer, CEO, TECHONTAP. “With VCON’s emphasis on enhanced QoS for networked conferencing solutions, true “face-to-face” electronic meetings” are now a reality. Internationally, when making a video call becomes as easy as a phone call, communication between peers, employees, key customers and even vendors not only saves time, money and travel, but also dramatically improves collaboration. At last the days of clunky, expensive and high hassle video conferencing are gone!” explained Boorer.
