Support for real-time instant messaging and collaboration in IPNexus, including videoconferencing capability instrumental in becoming a finalist
(February 26, 2004) Austin, Texas VCON (Nouveau Marché ISIN Code: IL 00 108 30540), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, today was announced as a finalist in Network Worlds Best of the Tests, 2003. The VCON IPNexus was a finalist in the messaging and collaboration category. Judges at Network World commented, We were highly impressed with this IM system [IPNexus] in that it can support instant text messaging and real-time, full-featured collaboration sessions (including point-to-point or multi-point H.323 videoconferences). IPNexus is one of VCONs server-based rich media applications that enables real-time communication on a variety of networks. IPNexus is a secure instant messaging and data collaboration application that helps employees communicate and work more efficiently across geographic, departmental and organizational boundaries. IPNexus addresses the concerns that many organizations have about using unsecure public servers for instant messaging so that instant messaging and data collaboration can become viable communication tools. A key feature of IPNexus is VCONs WebShare technology. WebShare enables any user in the conference to easily and quickly share data from their PC with all other users in the conference. Additionally, users can share data over the Internet to anyone with a web-browser using a unique web share tool. VCONs WebShare is soon to be incorporated into its audio conferencing bridge, the IGC 2000, as well as its videoconferencing scheduling and moderation application, the VCON Conference Moderator. Data conferencing is a tool that is useful during an instant messaging session, talking in an audio conference and while participating in a videoconference. VCONs WebShare is an easy-to-use tool that stretches across all of those applications. We are honored to have been considered a finalist by Network World, said Gordon Daugherty, Chief Marketing Officer, VCON. IPNexus is a unique tool that increases productivity in any organization and we are pleased that it was recognized for its business-quality features and functionality.
IPNexus can be purchased as a stand-alone server-based product, or part of a rich-media MXM installation. IPNexus is sold exclusively through VCON authorized partners. |
